Technical Project Manager :: opening at Srijan

January 5th, 2009 by Rahul Dewan

We’re looking for a Project Manager for working with our development team. Our development process internally is more ‘agile’ – however, an adaptation to our own ways of working. Each Project Manager would typically need to manage 2-4 projects of varying sizes, across 1-2 project teams (4 people per team).

The responsibilities of a (technical) Project Manager at Srijan are detailed out below.

—————–

Business Analysis
Work with the customer in getting requirements in place. Make use of ‘wireframes’ and ‘user stories‘ as an estimation process. Skills in ‘use case diagrams‘ would be a real benefit

Maintain Product Backlog
Work with the customer in creating and maintaining the Product Backlog

Manage Work Plans
Prioritize the Product Backlog, and create ‘work plans‘ or week-long Sprints with the Project Owner (which is essential a Tech Project Leader role at Srijan); Monitor the output, refactor, manage challenges

UI and Functional Testing
Test the deliveries before they are demonstrated (’victories‘) to ‘internal customers‘ (Account Managers role-playing as the customer); organise demos on our Sandbox/Test environments for end-customers

Sign-off from Customer
Get sign-offs from customers

Scope Management
Manage the original scope estimated for and proposed to customer, vis-a-vis the scope as it changes while the project develops, and the customer becomes more educated in what they desire.

Profitability
Monitor profitability of the project as the project goes along

Manage Contract
Manage contractual requirements throughout the project lifecycle
